I started my eponymous brand Byttebier this year, 18 years after studying at the Fashion Academy of Antwerp. Byttebier offers custom designs for weddings, special occasions, red carpet, editorials and also releases series of ready-to-wear garments and accessories. I work mostly with high-end vintage and deadstock fabrics to create unique pieces with couture techniques and handmade details. Everything is made by me in my studios in Athens and Belgium and fabrics and trimmings are also sourced locally. Lace always makes an appearance in elements of my work, as a lot of it is inspired on the rich textile, lace, flax and linen history of both my native Flanders as well as the Greek textile traditions. The design language can be described as deconstructed but feminine, with nods to couture of the past but with a contemporary comfort and fit.
