My ceramic practice explores the tension between form and release. In recent works, I create vessels and sculptural pieces whose surfaces are interrupted by clay strips that break away from the main body.
These extensions, often in contrasting colors, symbolize the act of transcending boundaries — the moment when something contained dares to move beyond its limits.
The vivid palette emphasizes this gesture of departure: each liberated strip stands apart, resisting uniformity and echoing the human need to detach from the familiar, even when it feels secure. Through this process, I reflect on personal experiences of constraint and the courage required to seek freedom from them.
Rather than depicting confinement itself, my works focus on transformation. They invite viewers to consider how breaking patterns, both emotional and structural, can lead to resilience and renewal. Each piece becomes a quiet, tactile metaphor for release.
